I tried each of the connection types, but when connected via Wi-Fi only, I'm unable to update.

The last attempt I made caused a crash and upon reboot the hourglass appeared every 10 seconds or so until I deleted the Freenews app.

Other apps seem to be able to connect. For instance Pocketday connects through WAP and will update when connected through wi-fi only.

I have a data plan, am on a BES and have all the necessary service books for UMA, BIS, BES. I am having no other connectivity issues.

Any thoughts?

thanks

According to my contact at RIM, there should be nothing that our app needs to do for BES or BIS connections.

If you don't use either of these two, then I will need to add an additional connection type, "WiFi".

Do you have the BES version of our application installed or the regular version?

I've added a seperate connection type "WiFi" with version 2.2.8 given the instructions that I received from RIM.

Settings -> Account -> Connection type

Please let me know if this works for you.
