Properties allows you to configure special behavior for both Folders and Feeds.
For a folder
If you select a feed folder and then choose properties you can do the following:
- Rename the folder. This allows you to change the name of the folder.
- Create a new folder. If you choose a top-level folder (ie. has no parent folders), then you can access the "Create folder" menu.
This allows you to create either a new sub-folder or top-level folder.
For a feed
If you select a feed and then choose properties you can do the following:
- Rename the feed. This allows you to change the name of the feed.
- Maximum number of articles stored. Sometimes a feed will have so many articles downloaded, that other feeds with older articles get
them automatically pruned to make room. To prevent this, you can limit the maximum number of
articles that is ever stored for this feed. If over the limit, older articles are deleted to
make room.
- Show thumbnails. This allows you to turn off the loading of thumbnails for either Abstract or Full Story. You
might choose this if a certain feed has images you don't really care about seeing.
make room.
- Show links. This allows you to turn off the parsing of links for either Abstract or Full Story. You
might choose this if a certain feed never has links that interest you or you find the
different link color distracting.
- Automatically download Full Stories during Update. This allows you to automatically download every article's Full Story as soon as the
article is downloaded on the phone. You might want to do this if you are in Flight
Mode a lot and you want to be able to read all the feed's full stories even though
you don't have a connection.
- Allow auto-deletion of articles during Update. If turned off, this will protect a feed's articles from being automatically
being deleted. You might want to do this if you have a feed with older
articles that you would like to keep on the phone, no matter what.
- Delete articles before each Update. This allows you to automatically delete either read or all articles from a feed
when new articles arrive for that feed. You might want to do this if you have
a stock feed and you're only interested in a very latest quote.
